Paradise Tree coat rack

The Paradise Tree hat stand/coat rack just jumped out at me when I saw it on Swiss Miss's design blog last week. Isn't it gorgeous?

Apparently it's one of the items to be showcased by Magis at the Milan Design Week in April. The work of Finnish designer Oiva Toikka, it is part of the ongoing 'Me Too' range which we've mentioned several times before - see, for example, the Piedras seating concept.

Those shapes and colours are just so inviting - who wouldn't want this in the house? My only two quibbles are that a) it looks as though those lower branch-type shapes might deliver a nasty poke in the eye to small people, and b) who wants to cover up such a nice piece with coats and hats? That aside, if this is the kind of thing to be found in Milan this year, you'd better physically restrain me from hopping on a plane. Love it.
