Movable Feast lunch box

You've got to love a good pun, and the Movable Feast lunch box has got it. See, the little dividers... they can be moved around! So, you can make the compartments a variety of sizes and keep all your foods separate. Looks good to me.

Esska

Always looking for that unique baby gift, well these Esska baby booties in felt just might be the answer. A gaggle of babies have been born to friends lately and Esska, with its bold use of color, really hits the spot.

Brights and Stripes rainbow PJs

Brights and Stripes take us older parents right back to our own Seventies childhoods with these rainbow jim jams. It's funny, even the close fit is giving me a blast from the past: I know tight jammies are the norm for safety reasons in the USA (and I find the silhouette so cute that I always come back with several sets when I'm over there), but here in the UK, they seem to hark right back to my early years. Plus, rainbow graphics. Do excuse me, I'm four again.

The art of Blanca Gomez

How much do you love these prints by artist, Blanca Gomez? Simple, graphic and sweet, these prints are 8.5" x 11" and ready to print. Unfortunately some are sold out, like the monsieur holding the red balloon, but there are a few prints available so hurry over!

9spotmonk paper goods

Another great Forest Find this month is the the eco-friendly paper goods from 9spotmonk. I love the animal bookplates (including penguin, pig, rhino or rabbit) which leave room for a message when giving them as a gift. And also the travel place mats that come complete with three crayons. All 9spotmonk's original goods are made in the US and printed on 100% recycled paper.

Hop 'n' squeak shoes

Ach, so many things in the world, so few of them truly vital. And so many of the non-vital ones marketed directly at parents. But that thought aside, Hop 'n' Squeak shoes might be fun.
Designed to get kids up from crawling and onto their two feet (which, let's not forget, they will do eventually with or without encouragement), the shoes feature a small 'squeaker' on each sole, supposedly encouraging the child to walk. Don't worry, if it becomes irritating, the squeaker can be removed.
The shoes come in some pleasant designs for both boys and girls, and the squeak could be a fun extra, it's true.

Extra fine handmade boats for your bath

You really can eschew the plastic monstrosities that threaten to overflow your bathroom when you realise there are bath toys of this fine quality out there. Could it really be that phenomena such as Etsy really are helping us defeat the big stores' determination that our homes be full of brash plasticky rubbish? One can only hope.
The seller is Friendly Fairies, and her profile tells a story of a corporate drone made redundant and relaunching herself as an independent seller. From big business to small-scale, from plastic trash to wooden boats made with care: it's all part of the same story, really.

Clouds

Sleep on a cloud? Possible on these cloud cushions by Donna Wilson. Everything is always better at my house when a story is attached to it, fairytale in spirit, and these would do it. In light grey, baby blue or pink.

Cheeky Wipes: making a bum job better

Once again I'm in awe of an entrepreneurial mum. Here I am, stretched with one kid and a normal office-hours job, and meanwhile a mother of three still finds the time to manufacture and launch a new product. Hmm.
This time, the product in question can also earn its creator extra brownie points, for it benefits the planet. Cheeky Wipes are the next logical step to reusable nappies, and if you've ever felt peculiar turning from your eco-friendly diapers to resource-hungry wet-wipes, this concept is for you.
Find out all about it on the website, where every question is answered and every fear (eg, "What about poo?") allayed. Helen Blaber, that admirable founder, seems genuinely enthused about her company, and her commitment is infectious.

Sail Ahoy Collection from Smallville

Ahoy there sailors! Looking for some great new duds in which to swab the deck? Well, I'm no sailor, but I think the Sail Ahoy Collection from Smallville is pretty dandy. Truthfully, it's hard to go wrong with nautical stripes; these, plus kids, plus summer, is a totally winning combination. But what I really love about Smallvilles' tops are the special embellishments: subtle bits of appliques and embroidery as well as the rope(!), enhance the maritime charm. Designed and handmade in the US by San Francisco resident Jimin Mannick, each is fashioned from soft, lightweight, knit cotton. So cool, they're great for land lumbers too!

If your favorite shirt is currently unavailable, don't founder and fret, custom orders are available.
