Tord Boontje's O-Nest

o-nest

Tord Boontje has turned out an increasing number of attractive design pieces, from lampshades to rugs to mirrors, all using his signature intricate floral cut-outs, so you may be surprised to see these seats, known as O-Nests. Their shapes are so plain, so simple.

Ah, but if we look closer, we see that they are in fact covered with a raised pattern of entwined grasses and flowers. While the pattern would be very apt for garden surroundings, the bright acid colours would also make a very elegant statement. And maybe they're not so far from that floral theme - because now I look at them, they are reminiscent, in shape and colour, of tulips.
