Justine's Swimwear selects

For me, finding decent swimwear for the kids remains a huge challenge. All I want are basic, bright suits with a slight contemporary flair: no ruffles, no extra long legs, and please, none of those atrocious spf coveralls. (I can apply my own sunscreen, thank you!) In case you can relate, I thought I share the results of my legwork. After an exhaustive search, here are my picks for best kids' suits. For girls: the Jellybean suit (above) by Flip by Sweet Potatoes. It's just what I'm looking for: a classic cut updated with a vivid, kid-friendly print. And for the boys, a slightly more daring choice: Claesen's red swimboxer. To me this is the definitive summer red, boldly accented with yellow contrast stitching and intense turquoise tie. This is probably the only age at which your average American dude can get away with this much color, so I say, "go for it." But if it's a bit too much, then, almost as fabulous, a bit more conservative, but still totally stylin', is this same suit in camo with orange string.

So, these are my choices for fashionable fun in the sun. But if you have some of your own, please do share!

I love that girl's suit: I'd wear it myself if they scaled it up.

love the claesen boxers but will stick with my kid's "atrocious" SPF rashgaurds. sun screen isn't as effective after sweating and swimming, and I am thankful that there are now products to protect my son's very fair skin without reapplying or worrying about missing a spot. when it comes to the risk of cancer i'll sacrifice style.
