Easidream: the answer to a good night's sleep?

Well I remember the early months of our daughter's life when we would have tried anything to get her into a better sleep habit. Looking back, it's hard to know whether any of the things we did try actually worked, or whether she had some random good nights that coincided with their use. One thing's for sure, nothing worked long-term. White noise, blackout curtains, soothing music, lavender baths...it seemed like everyone we met had a suggestion, and while we didn't try them all, we certainly went for a lot.
Easidream wasn't available in those days, but if it had been, it would have raised an interesting question: could we put a price on our sleep? At some point, I think every weary parent must think that they would pay any amount of money to solve the sleep issue for good - but of course, there are no guarantees and what works for one child may not for the next.
Easidream is a system that attempts to replicate the conditions of the womb in your baby's cot. It can be used from birth up to about 18 months, and consists of a pneumatic system that can gently move the cot mattress, plus a sound-and-light module (that's the sheep you see in the image above). Developed with the help of Brighton University in the UK, it would appear to be more than just one more product making empty promises to parents too tired to resist.
At £250 (currently a special offer lops £50 off the price), it's not something you'd pick up without a moment's thought. But if it works, let's face it, it's worth ten times as much.
I'd be interested to know if anyone out there has tried it, and with what results.
