Put the finishing touch to homemade clothes, or personalise the shop-bought ones you keep seeing on kids everywhere: it's cheap and easy with buttons. I'm told it's easy to cover buttons with fabric oneself, but these designs are pretty special, and the assortment on offer keeps changing. Last week, I should have snapped up the Little Red Riding Hood ones, because they're gone this week. Ah well, some kid somewhere is having a good time playing with her buttons and telling herself the story. Not to worry: it'll be a different tale for my daughter, but no doubt an equally good one.
