Wooden Bowl & Spoon by Munchkin: Really?

munchkin%20wooden1.jpg

Every parent wants to keep their child safe and out of harm's way. BPA in baby's bottle? No thank you. Lead paint in baby's toys? Absolutely not. But there comes a certain point where safety concerns can become a tad ridiculous. When I saw this wooden bowl and spoon set by Munchkin, I thought it was a toy for a play kitchen, but I was wrong. You're supposed to feed your baby using it.

So I ordered it, thinking that, worst case scenario, new toy for the kids' kitchen. After using them, that is where they will stay. My 10 month old did not enjoy licking the wooden spoon (and neither did I), and neither bowl nor spoon are dishwasher safe. Bring me some BPA- PVC- BS-free plastic bowls and spoons, please. And yes, I will recycle them when we are done with them.
