Shibafu Table by Emmanuelle Moureaux

shibafutable01.jpg

While I'm sure the folks setting child safety standards would have a field day with this piece, I can't help but wonder what this amazing Shibafu Table by French architect and designer Emmanuelle Moureaux would look like in our house. The 56 randomly aligned acrylic feet support the transparent acrylic table top which refracts light "as if they were soaking in water", providing children and grown-ups alike with an amazing feast for the eyes. An adult piece of furniture that's just playful enough to justify it as "something the kids really need."
