Nothing wrong with a bit of cute and whimsical in adult design, but these bird shelves from Susan Bradley would add a lot of charm to a kids' room for sure.

The basic shape is steel; you add the leaves and birds as vinyl stickers in whatever configuration you like best. Then, the only issue is finding something to put on the shelf that doesn't totally obscure the design - a few favourite toys, perhaps.
