Beauchamping's Alphabet

This print by Beauchamping is not your usual bright nursery fare, but that's why I like it. It's sophisticated. But take a closer look. "Y" for yeti, very whimsical, the kids will relate. Keep looking. The more you do, the more you appreciate Gregory's wry and subtle humor. J for Jupiter - you have to know the order of your planets. V for Vulcan - Star Trek references are always cool (really, like in the same way Bill Gates is). There's a few I can't even figure out...yet. The whole thing brings to mind the kind of person I always wanted to be as a parent: hip and cool, a kind of big kid with a rich imagination, but still mature; one who inspires a love of learning and culture and a curiosity about the world, yet always with a sense of humor. Yeh, the reality is not quite like that. So perhaps I'll put this print up, just to remind me that it's all supposed to be fun.
Oh, and for all you Spanish speakers out there, there's also Alfabeto. And I would be remiss if I also didn't mention "FOOD" (pictured below). Note the shadows. Totally great. All limited editions, so get them while they're hot.
