Soft Cities

I think I've found the ultimate birth gift - a Softcities blanket. These gorgeous fleece blankets can depict a map of the place of your choosing, anywhere in the world, in one of two colourways.

You can also plonk markers down to indicate, say, where the family live, their favourite spot for a strol, or where the baby was born (be wise, and commission that one *after* the birth, though - births don't always go as planned).

Now and again, products come up that make writing for Babygadget a very expensive job indeed, and this is definitely one of them. In trying to decide whether a pink or blue blanket depicting my neighbourhood would be cooler, I came to the conclusion they both would. They're $175 a piece, so I can't order lightly, but I do think they're totally beautiful and, if you can afford them, worth every cent.
